ABOUT THE TEACHER

JAMIE COOPER

Veteran marketing professional, Jamie Cooper, is a cannabis business consultant, a cannabis patient and strong voice for the industry. After moving to West Michigan in November of 2014 from Colorado, Jamie started the first cannabis-industry marketing and business consulting company in the state, Canna Media Works. She also launched the West Michigan chapter of Women Grow, a national organization that aims to educate, connect, and empower women entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry. Jamie quickly became a reliable connecting point for business owners who are looking to build a cannabis business in Michigan, which is why she started Cannabiz Connection, a platform designed to help business professionals better connect with the service providers they need to build a successful business.

Jamie also serves as an Ellementa Organizer, hosting monthly cannabis education workshops; providing women with information; while creating a supportive community, and reliable resources to understand the benefits of cannabis. She is often hired to speak to municipalities in Michigan, educating them on the economic benefits and challenges that come with allowing medical marijuana businesses. She is also the Co-Founder of Industry Power Women and serves as the Marketing Mentor for Kadin Academy, an eight-week, online cannabis business learning program for women looking to be part of the cannabis industry.

Jamie was recently selected by the Grand Rapids Business Journal as one of the Most Influetial Women in West Michigan. She is the mother of an autistic child and is currently working with a group of parents and advocates who are lobbying to get autism added to the list of qualifying conditions for medical cannabis in the state.
